I was scheduled for surgery on Tuesday but had examination on the Monday before. 2 days before my examination the doctor wrote to me asking if I could come in a day earlier, I was a little bit surprised that he was doing examinations on a Sunday but agreed.

It took us about 10-15 minutes to walk there from Bricks Hotel. Google maps wanted us to go really out of the way to get there which took much longer. See map below for the better way to go.

We had an appointment at 11 and we were there 10 minutes early, only 1 or 2 people waiting when we got in but after us a lot of patients started flowing in waiting for an appointment.

We ended up waiting probably 40 minutes at least. In hindsight maybe he was freeing up his Monday and asked everyone there to come in on a Sunday? That could explain the delay.

But we then went in and he was very welcoming, listened well, his English was good and he explained everything well.

He took some before photos of me from all angles and inspected me in the chair. There he showed me how he could see that I had a very deviated septum. I was kind of shocked. I knew my nose was crooked but didn't know I had a deviated septum.

He then explained that he could do what I wanted, remove the hump on my nose, make it as straight as possible and also make my nose tip more defined. I would end up with the same angle of the nose as before as I requested.

I asked some questions and he answered them all.

I asked him if he could do anything to make sure I wouldn't have a lot of blood in my stomach after the surgery, to prevent me throwing up. I had heard that you could put something I think in the throat to catch the blood to prevent it from leaking to the stomach.

My doctor was surprised like he had never heard of this thing and said that they would give anti nausea medicine after the surgery, so I left it at that and just hoped for the best.

There was only one thing he didn't quite understand and that was if I could have gluten free food at the hospital. But I didn't go into too much detail and thought I will just have snacks and my mom can bring me food also so I just didn't bother because I can eat gluten, just too much of it makes me sick. (Note you can only have liquid food the first day after surgery!)

I was very happy that he had actually listened and was able to tell me exactly what he was going to do without me having to tell him again what I wanted done.

When we got out my mom said that she had a really good feeling about him and I agreed. The staff was just as wonderful, very helpful and nice and explained everything to us.
